Christmas Communications Survey Prize Draw - Terms and Conditions for Shepway District Council

These terms and conditions are the basis upon which you are entering into the Christmas Communications Survey Prize Draw with Shepway District Council

1. The Promoter is Shepway District Council.

2. The closing time and date for entering the Prize Draw are 5.00pm on Wednesday 13 December 2017.

3. The draw date is Thursday 14 December 2017.

4. All entrants must have completed an online survey about communications accessed through by no later than the closing date and have provided contact details for the purpose of being entered into the prize draw. There are no other routes of entry.

5. Only one entrant per resident (evidenced by providing distinct identification/contact details) is allowed. 

6. The following people are ineligible to participate in the prize draw:

  • Employees of the Promoter, elected members and their spouses and commercial contractors.
  • Anyone completing the survey after the closing date.
  • Anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  • Anyone under 18 years of age.

7. The prize draw:

  • The Prize consists of one winning prize of £50 of Love2Shop vouchers.
  • The Promoter will randomly select a winner from all the people eligible to participate in the prize draw who have completed the survey online and provided contact details on the draw date.
  • The winner will be notified by the Promoter by post and/or telephone and/or email, using contact details contained in the survey, within 7 days of the draw date. The winner will be awarded their prize within 14 days of the date of acceptance.
  • In the event that the winner cannot or does not claim the prize, there will be no alternative prize and another winner will be selected using the same process after 14 days.
  • If it is subsequently found that a winner is ineligible, or has breached these terms and conditions (or some other breach of law) - in all cases at the sole discretion of the Promoter - or cannot be contacted within 14 days of notification, the Promoter will re-draw the prize.
  • The re-selection process will be repeated until a winner is identified.

8. Subject to the following paragraph, the Promoter will use its reasonable endeavours to ensure that relevant personal data remains confidential and will be governed and subject to any applicable data protection law requirements.

9. The parish of the prize winner (and the name of the prize winner if s/he consents) will be available in writing from the Promoter after the prize draw upon a request made in writing to the Promoter directly. The prize winner may be asked to undertake publicity with Promoter or the Promoter's agent(s) about the prize.

10. The decision of the Promoter in respect of any and all aspects of the promotion will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into by the Promoter about any aspect of this promotion.

11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability to any person or organisation for any losses, damages, costs and/or expenses howsoever incurred (whether directly or indirectly) in respect of this promotion, other than those losses which cannot be excluded by the Promoter by law including death and personal injury caused by the Promoter's negligence. The Promoter will not be responsible to any prize winner for any financial implications that might arise as a result of the prize award, nor will the Promoter provide any advice on any matter related to the prize award or the personal circumstances of the prize winner.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
